10 More Great Video Games That Never Got Sequels

10. Stranglehold

Chow Yun Fat and John Woo made waves back in 1992 with Hard Boiled, a precursor to Max Payne with all the dual-wielding, diving and multi-angled nonsense that hadn't really been done before.

So when it was announced that Woo and Fat would be bringing this to the world of videogames, with Stranglehold launching in 2007, anticipation was high. We'd had two Max Payne's, but Stranglehold promised more over-the-top than film noir.

It promised, and it delivered. What other game let you dive sideways, land on a catering trolley, only to jump off and run along a ceremonial dragon statue? It was a blast to play, with players trying to to rack up more varied and creative shootouts as they went.

Yet sadly, that was all for the continuing adventures of Inspector Tequila. Whilst there's reportedly a movie adaption on the way (presumably to right the wrongs that the Max Payne film did), there's no Stranglehold 2 in development.

There's just not enough games feature shootouts in the midst of flocks of doves anymore.
