Wrestling may be sports entertainment, with outcomes predetermined, but that doesn't take away from the athleticism involved in the act itself; so yes, it is a sport. While admittedly, this isn't the best game in the series (sequel Def Jam: Fight for NY is better) but that was more of a brawler with more of a street fight vibe and toned down the embellishments. The concept of this game on paper sounds like a joke, but the game completely delivers. It was fun as hell, had a massive replay value and incredibly solid gameplay. What helped the game was that AKI Corporation was on board, and they helped with arguably the best wrestling game of all time - WWF No Mercy. Def Jam Vendetta took the exact same wrestling controls, style and a lot of the same animations from this game which did nothing but help it. It was like playing the older wrestling games from the N64 with a new skin, on a new generation of consoles.
