You may not have come across the 2012 survival game Amy and, rest assured, after this video you won’t want to.

Instead of helping someone genuinely helpless through a crazy dangerous situation, you are the helpless person. That’s more fun than being the protagonist, right? On top of that your comrade isn’t a gun-toting house of bullets and brawn but a little girl called Amy.

Okay, she has superpowers that help her kill zombies, but she’s still a kid. And you’re, as I mentioned, useless.

It’s still mind-boggling what sort of sadistic dev team decided this is what video games really needed. Get too far from your child super-saviour, you die, try to speed up from her absolute snails pace, you die. I’m kind of cheating because this is a whole game and not a mission but just take this as a PSA. Look, the concept is cool, the execution is absolutely brain breaking.

There’s a reason it’s sitting at 25% on metacritic. If you want to escort a super kid go play A Plague Tale: Innocence instead.
