10 Most Incredible Vocal Tracks In Silent Hill History
10. Soldier's Orders - Silent Hill: Homecoming
It's worth mentioning that all these songs are composed by Akira Yamaoka and sung by Mary Elizabeth McGlynn.
Homecoming sucks, I know, but like what was mentioned in the intro, it is undeniable that even the worst Silent Hills have a great soundtrack and Homecoming is one of them.
Soldier's Orders (or Alex Theme) is slow, sinister but melancholy and the last track on the Homecoming soundtrack. The song plays more noticeably in the background of two scenes: Alex hitchhiking with a familiar face and receiving the Handgun during a conversation with an NPC.
The lyrics detail a military trained man with a dark past about to take on a grave mission, obvious what that's alluding to.
"Your power is over, I've come to change the order"
The song has a remix, a Machine Head version which pumps the song up a little with added beats. Arguably, it's the better version.
