4. Mass Mill

Even before cards which single-handedly allow you to win the game, milling your opponent has been the secondary win condition after killing your opponent outright. By forcing them to draw or discard cards from their deck, you get them closer and closer to running out of cards, and once they go to draw a card with nothing there to pick up, they lose the game.

We’ve already had an appearance from the legendary Nicol Bolas on this list, and we get another one with Nicol Bolas, the Arisen. His ultimate ability allows him to exile your opponent’s entire library bar the bottom card. Instantly, all of those cards that the player has put time into choosing as they carefully crafted their deck are gone, and they better hope that either they have a win condition in their hand or that the one card left in their deck is good because otherwise it’s game over.

Even if they can somehow shuffle cards from their hand or board back into their deck, they’d be buying time at best as sooner or later those last few cards will be gone and so will they.
