This card massively favours artifact decks, which, especially in the last handful of years in MTG, have fortunately become more viable. This equipment is cheap both to cast and to equip, giving a creature of yours an instant spike in power.

The great thing about this card is that you don’t even need to be running an all-artifact deck to gain some value from this card. Especially in EDH, most decks have at least a handful of artifacts for mana generation at the bare minimum – so this card will likely give a creature +2 or +3 power at the worst of times which isn’t bad for a 2-cost card which costs 1 to equip.

However, put it alongside an aforementioned artifact deck and you’ve suddenly got a power spike in the double figures. It also triggers from itself as it’s an artifact in its own right, meaning you’ll never get nothing for it. Overall, this card is great in both the early and the late game and that’s why it just makes this list.
