4. Bayonetta 1, 2 & 3

Two parts remake, one part all-new adventure. Most likely down to disastrous Wii U sales meaning a fraction of the populace played Bayonetta on a Nintendo platform, they've since secured the rights to the third instalment as a Switch exclusive, and are re-releasing Bayonetta 1 & 2 in HD to celebrate.

These first two games are straight-up remasters, though Bayonetta 2 is going to come with an additional co-op mode to make the best use of the Joy-Con remotes and local play.

Bayonetta 3 though... that's where things get interesting. We know Platinum Games developer the best third-person action titles on the market (just look at NieR's genre-blending mashup of hack n' slash, top-down bullet hell and side scrolling), so anything's possible here.

The character of Bayonetta only goes from strength to strength as time goes on; slowly becoming one of the most recognisable and iconic heroes we've got. All the better then, that she's heading up Nintendo's output.
