Are E-Sports "real" sports? Could video gaming ever become an Olympic event?

Ask the aforementioned Muggles and they will (a) laugh in your face, (b) display zero comprehension as to what video games even are in the first place, or (c) slap you with a bible (other religious texts are available).

The thing is though, competitive gaming can be just as competitive, just as difficult, just as mentally and physically taxing as any other legitimate sport you could name.

One need only look to the competitive League of Legends scene and the undeniably HUGE global audience this attracts, with seven-figure prize money coveted by teams from all around the world.

How, then, do you define what is classed as a sport in the modern age? Do E-Sports players run around on a field? No - but then neither do racing drivers. Do E-Sports players train day and night to the point of exhaustion? Yes, of course they do.

Could just anyone off the street play a game like LOL to the astronomically high standards that professional players can? Absolutely not.

Starting to sound a bit like a sport, isn't it?
