10 Most Stylish Video Games Of The Last 10 Years
2. Death Stranding
The second exception on this list for boundary-pushing graphics in a game has to be Death Stranding. Say what you will about Kojima's first offering since the Konami split, the attention to detail in this game is incredible.
You may scoff and deride it as a "boring postal simulator" all you like (and people do), but never has walking across vacant land looked so good. Alright, it looks nothing like American geography, but who cares, really?
Traversing a world modeled around Icelandic landscapes, steering Sam Porter Bridges and his cargo across lush, rocky terrain is a beauty in itself. Love or hate him, Kojima puts the time in to make sure a game looks good, and Death Stranding definitely nails that.
And much like Control in the previous entry, music also plays an important part in creating the stylish world of futuristic, destroyed America. The haunting tones of Low Roar, amongst others, accompanying Sam at certain intervals lends a poignancy that makes you take in your journey, rather than just see it as a series of fetch quests.
It's certainly not to everyone's taste, but on the stylishly artistic spectrum, Death Stranding is at the top.
