10. Batman: Arkham City - Armoured Edition

The Batman: Arkham series has set the bar incredibly high not only for superhero games, but action adventure games full stop. Fantastic voice acting, tight combat, and varied gameplay has ensured that other comic book tie in games will be copying this series for a long time (*cough*, Amazing Spider Man 2).

Anyway, there are undoubtedly shades of Metroid throughout the series. The item based progression, exploration, and world packed with secrets, collectables and upgrades means that any game in the Arkham trilogy will more than sate the appetite of anyone looking to get their fix of Metroid. Although to be honest, you really should have played at least one of these games already. 

Luckily these days, you can pick up the Wii U exclusive version Arkham City for very cheap. It's basically a Game of the Year edition with some neat Gamepad features thrown in.
