10 Impossible Video Game Puzzles That Drove Us Insane

9. Onimusha: Warlords - Water Room

Capcom€™s foray into a demon-filled feudal Japan on the Playstation 2 is one of the most under-appreciated game series of all time. It built on many of the great aspects of Resident Evil games, but also regrettably carried over the tendency towards dreary, difficult puzzles. In the water prison section of Onimusha, you must solve a tile-sliding puzzle (like the ones your parents gave you for long car journeys before realising that what you really wanted was a Game Boy). Unless you€™re one of those rare people whose brain is wired towards Chess, Rubik€™s Cubes and general forward-thinking, you probably solve tile-sliding puzzles by moving the tiles around at random until eventually an opening appears to fit something together. It€™s not a hugely complex puzzle in itself, but the time limit ensures that you'll be failing it time and time again, before eventually giving up on it out of sheer boredom. If you€™re looking to try out this otherwise great series of games, try Onimusha 2, because by that point Capcom realised that people don€™t play these games to bang their heads against sliding tiles.
