10 Outstanding Current Gen Video Games You Wrongly Overlooked

10. Watch Dogs 2

Instead of an aesthetically dull, overly-serious experience like the first game, Watch Dogs 2 introduces a vibrant colour palette, an undeniable sense of energy and a personality for its open world that invites you to explore. Add in a likeable protagonist, an enjoyable cast of characters and open-ended mission design, and it's one hell of a sequel.

Feeling like a soft reboot, WD2 has an undeniable sense of energy and personality flowing through every section. It took advantage of its predecessor's potential and got far more inventive with mechanics, allowing greater player freedom. Additionally, the sequel streamlined activities like hacking and surveillance, eliminating much of the gameplay lulls that plagued its predecessor.

To complete the package, you've got a storyline that playfully pokes jabs at prominent real-life tech figures and provides some notable social commentary on race, government, and the justice system. Long story short, it covered the issues that the first Watch Dogs tried to, but did so in a far more engaging and entertaining way.

Even if you weren't a fan of the first, this deserves a playthrough.
