Shiek's Super Smash Bros. incarnation lacks the mystery of her first appearance in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. There's no question as to her true identity: she's a master of close-range combat. Thanks to relatively low knockback and quick activation, all three of Shiek's smash attacks work together exceptionally well. Paired with her forward tilt attack (featured at 1:44 in the video above), she can be next to impossible to stopa trait which has taken her to great heights in competitive play. She clocks in as one of the top-tier Melee characters and holds quite a record in Brawl as well, but the real danger is what variation will do for her kicks. At the very least, players currently have familiarity going for them against a smash-happy Shiek. Strike that from the list and things get very nasty very quickly. Being unable to effectively anticipate and respond to her sweeping down smash or cutting forward smash due to inconsistent timings could make Shiek indomitable in many matchups.
