10 PlayStation 5 Exclusives We Know Are In Development

Sequels galore, the PS5 is set to continue the PS4's cycle of excellence.

The PS4 has been the gold standard for exclusive video games this generation, with titles like Spider-Man, God of War, Horizon: Zero Dawn, Persona 5, Until Dawn, and Days Gone, leading the charge.

You can expect that tradition to continue on the PS5. The next-generation system from Sony is coming out in late 2020 (we presume) and it's going to need great exclusive games. Sony has been uncharacteristically quiet the past two years but it's for good reason.

When Sony announced the PS5 specs in a random Tuesday interview with Wired, many gamers raised eyebrows as to the motive. It all became clear when Microsoft revealed the next Xbox's capabilities at E3 2019, boasting pretty much the same stuff as the PS5 - details we already knew.

Nobody cared: Sony had undercut them. And when Sony announced it wasn't attending E3 for the first time ever, people said it was losing touch. One boring E3 later and everyone is saying Sony stole the show without even being there.

Point being, we should know by now to assume Sony knows what it's doing. As such, we have the utmost faith that the PS5 will be another bastion of excellent exclusive games, and these are 10 you can bank on being there.

10. Gran Turismo 8

The Gran Turismo series is, arguably, Sony's most important. That might sound odd, considering it's just a racing franchise. However Gran Turismo is, by some margin, Sony's best selling series.

Since the PS1 era, the Gran Turismo games tend to be amongst, if not the, best selling games on each generation of hardware. However it's also fair to say that the last two instalments of the series have been a bit underwhelming. Gran Turismo Sport, the latest, in particular suffered from a lack of content and micro-transactions.

The PS5 is a fantastic opportunity for the Gran Turismo franchise to make a strong comeback. If Polyphony Digital can have a robust Gran Turismo 8 ready to go for the launch of the PS5 it's hard to underscore just how big of a deal that would be. Gran Turismo is a system seller like few others, and a return to form on the PS5 would be welcomed by fans.

Microsoft's Forza series, either Motorsport or Horizon, is the best racing games on the planet right now. Gran Turismo needs to find a way to compete on that front, and 8 has the potential to remind everyone who the original King is.
