10. It Nails Spider-Man Just As Well As The Movies

What are some of the things you remember fondly about the red-suited webslinger? For many it's his realistic problems, steadfast determination and sense of humour beneath the mask.

The likes of Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield and Tom Holland have all put their own spins on the character in movies, but for the video game, Insomniac Games chose Yuri Lowenthal, a veteran voice actor with fifteen years of experience in games overall. Suffice it to say, he did a fantastic job, standing alongside all the performers who have come before.

Lowenthal's performance is a brilliant portrayal of both Spider-Man and Peter Parker, with both humour and more emotional moments provided in equal measure. On one hand, Spider-Man's jokes and uplifting attitude in the worst of times complement the gameplay brilliantly and on the other, Peter's close bonds with his friends and family are beautifully conveyed. You really get the sense he cares for both them and the city he fights to protect.

What's most surprising about Yuri is that he's able to play a character half his age, adapting voice work to fit the younger Spider-Man. It pulls the player into the story and keeps them fully invested.
