As the next generation of consoles was drawing ever closer like the Black Death, the fandom became far too much to stomach, and the slinging matches between the warring factions were unreal. Everything from hardware to exclusivity was thrown into the pile of excrement that is the console wars, and blows were endlessly traded over the most simplistic of argument points. Of course, the enchanting irony is that both sides fail to realise the fact that Sony and Microsoft want this military style fandom towards each console. They don't honestly care about the individuals, the people who keep the lights on at work - they only see profit. That's not necessarily a dirty thing to say - we're not hippies - but it does determine why being so zealously committed to one console is ultimately ridiculous.
