10 Reasons Watch Dogs Is A Huge Disappointment

7. Poor Checkpoint System

Modern games have gotten pretty good at the whole checkpoint and saving system by now: you accomplish a goal, the next goal pops up and the game will ensure you're safe if you die, get caught or somehow fail the mission. Here however, the checkpoint system seems a little off (perhaps it requires patching?), as several times throughout the campaign I died after reaching a checkpoint only to be flung back 10 minutes before said checkpoint, having to repeat an entire sequence that the game implied I had already safely passed. In the case of the cumbersome stealth and driving missions, this can be downright infuriating. It doesn't appear to be a deliberate effort to make the game more challenging, but just sloppy programming. Thankfully it's not too common that this occurs, but it's enough to be pretty annoying when it does.
