It is an extremely creative series of games, introducing new mechanics in each and every installment. Utilizing Cooper ancestors to give Sly new abilities including sliding on lasers, spire jumping, and even invisibility was a clever way to incorporate a rich backstory into the fabric of the game itself.

On top of all of this, they create extremely lovable and relatable characters in each game, giving us the tragic plot line of Bentley as an example.

Not only do we feel bad for him for losing feeling in the lower part of his body at the end of the second game, but then he gets a girlfriend at the end of the third game who leaves him to become a villain.
