10 Reasons You Were Wrong About GTA IV

1. It Was The Perfect Precursor For GTA V

With the exception of the more traditional DLC packages, ultimately the seriousness of GTA IV was seen as the largest departure from the series' norm. While we know some fans didn't enjoy this, it's important to realise that it served as a well-timed break before Rockstar took us back to a little more of the silliness with their recent return to Los Santos. It's true that absence really does make the heart grow fonder, and so giving players something a little more unexpected with GTA IV meant bringing back the absurdities that have made the series a powerhouse felt all the sweeter in the end. GTA V just feels like more of a Grand Theft Auto game overall and, while its predecessor was responsible for some great changes and innovations as the series grew, moving back to this expected style was a move choreographed to perfection.
