10 Scariest Areas In Dark & Demon's Souls History
10. Dark Souls - Tomb Of The Giants
Found within the depths of the catacombs of Lordran in Dark Souls, the Tomb of Giants can be accessed after defeating Pinwheel (the easiest step in reaching this area). A pitch-black maze of dead ends, sudden pitfalls, and giant skeletons waiting to jump out at you from the darkness, it’s easy to see why this area kicks off this list.
In fact, this is the only thing you’ll easily be able to see about this area because of how ridiculously dark it is. Without using magic to light your way or grabbing the essential lantern later in this area (or, even better, the Sunlight Maggot from Lost Izalith), you’ll struggle to see anything at all. If you don’t know where you’re going you’ll be more likely to run off an edge or into a horde of enemies than find the exit.
The darkness is oppressive and suffocating. You have no idea what lies ahead just out of your view, which keeps you on constant edge. And all of this leads you to facing Nito, one of the most powerful and monstrous bosses in the game.
