10 Scummiest Moves Made By Video Game Publishers

4. Hello Games Lying About No Mans Sky

Hello Games really must have impressed Sony, because the amount of coverage No Mans Sky got in the media was insane. They made you think this was going to be the future of games. However, these mobile developers got in way over their heads when it came to No Mans Sky so they came up with a solution. Just lie!

Leading up to the release of No Mans Sky, the CEO Sean Murry got very into the spotlight to talk about this upcoming project. He detailed things that you could do in the game, just not all of them were true.

The most controversial being the games multiplayer. On launch, players found that they couldn't play the game with friends despite it claiming to have multiplayer functionality. When Questioned about this Murry said, "You can find each other in the infinite world but I doubt players ever will".

This was proved to be a lie when a few days later videos of people ending up on the same planet emerged and they found that they couldn’t see each other. The game now has the features it promised but it only just makes up for the lies.

Just patch it in later is not a good attitude to have.
