10 Secret Areas That Exist In Your Favourite Video Games
1. Diablo II - The Secret Cow Level
One of the longest-running jokes in Blizzard's games is that "there is no Cow Level", after false rumours were spread about a secret cow level in the first Diablo game. In Diablo II, Blizzard finally delivered the cow level that people had been hoping for. In order to access the secret level, players must combine Wirt's Leg with a Tome of Town Portal in the Horadric Cube. A red portal appears, which can be stepped through.
Within the secret cow level lies a small field filled with 'Hell Bovines,' which look like cows standing on their hind legs, brandishing polearms. The Cow King 'boss' also appears, dropping the 'Cow King's Leathers' item set. This legendary secret level has since been widely referenced in popular media, from Blizzard's own World of Warcraft to Goat Simulator.
