10. The Lazy Shell - Super Mario RPG

Every veteran player of Super Mario RPG knows that the best item in the game is the Lazy Shell. At the same time, every beginner player doesn't even know it exists because it's tied to an unmarked quest that drags the player all over the world, doing Nintendo knows what.

To acquire the Lazy Shell, the player needs to grow a beanstalk that lets them reach the cloud where it is hidden. As you may expect, growing the beanstalk requires some gardening materials, more specifically seeds and fertilizer.

You'd think that both of these items would be easy to acquire, but the only way to get a bag of fertilizer is to complete an unmarked quest with a thief in Nimbus Town by defeating Valentina and then crossing an invisible bridge to her lair (something most players wouldn't think of).

After both items are acquired, you still have to bring them to a gardener in Rose Town to grow the beanstalk, but once you finish all of the steps, you'll unlock a way to the clouds and get your hands on the Lazy Shell that not only deals huge amounts of damage but also works as one of the strongest armors in the game!
