5. Spider-Man: Return Of The Sinister Six

It may well be the most basic Spider-Man game on this list, but it's absolutely one of the most engaging and moreish titles I've ever played as the Wall-Crawler. The game features six side-scrolling levels and at the end of each there is a showdown with a different member of the deadly Sinister Six. The game was heavily criticised for being too difficult but, as the desire for gruelling challenges seems to be growing within modern gamers, the challenge is definitely worth taking up. The levels themselves are real tests of the the player's dexterity and ability to react, and each member of the Sinister Six offers a completely different threat in each stage. As a potentially interesting aside, this game also features one of the coolest box art images I've ever seen for a Spider-Man game. I am aware, however, this may not be a reason to head out and play the game...
