Perhaps the definition of easy to learn, difficult to master, the Super Smash Bros. series is played worldwide by variety of diverse players, of all races and age groups. Some people like to just button-mash, smack their friends around and have a good time; others compete in tournaments, spend their time counting frames to improve their game, mastering the art of wave-dashing and learning every tiny, subtle difference between each characters playstyle.
There are some truly obsessive Smash Bros. players out there; just when you think youve mastered the game, youll meet someone new who makes you look like a total rookie. Its almost impossible to stay ahead; you can best your friends, and your friends friends, but youll still find yourself absolutely destroyed every now and then by someone youve never met before .
Certain characters are also more vulnerable to others, meaning that in order to truly master the game, youre going to need to practice fairly consistently using several different variants. Otherwise, youll find yourself getting decimated by characters youre unfamiliar with.
