10 Terrifying Unkillable Video Game Enemies

All you can do is run like hell.

There's a sort of unwritten rule in horror films that, against the usual advice of showing something rather than telling it - ie instead of having everyone describe a character as a badass, simply have a scene of them doing something badass - to make a scary monster, you should never actually see it. Or, at least, you should hold off on showing it in any sort of detail for as long as possible, because as soon as it goes from a figure glimpsed in the shadows to an actual being you can see in the cold light of day, some of the terror dissipates. Unfortunately, that's not so much of an option in video games, so they've adapted the rule somewhat. Outside of, like, sports and puzzle titles, the main objective and way of succeeding in video games is by killing or otherwise destroying your enemies - it's been like that from Space Invaders all the way up to Call Of Duty. In video games, you have all the power. So what could be scarier than a game villain who you can't kill? What could be scarier than making the player powerless? Now you've got some terror back in your games. Not only is the character in the game powerless and scared, but so is the person playing them - and what better time than October, the month of Halloween, to take a look at ten of the most terrifying unkillable video game enemies (and then spend a few hours watching Let's Play from behind the sofa)?
