10. Lashworm

Lashworms are large worm-like creatures, with a huge maw full of razor-sharp teeth. They are only the size of small snakes, but do not underestimate the power of them based on their size. They are considered to be ambush predators, choosing to hide in the disused parts of the hives. There are many nooks and crannies in these areas, making for the perfect spot to bury themselves into the earth. The only thing that people can see is the small tip of their tail entering the earth, and by then it is too late.

Lashworms are extremely sensitive to vibrations, making them very dangerous if you stray too close. They will pop out of hiding to slice a part of their prey’s body off using the end of their tail. They will then retreat back into hiding with the prize they have taken, feasting on the flesh.

Being attacked by one of these Lashworms doesn’t necessarily mean death, but they do normally nest in colonies, infecting many sections of the hives. Anyone wandering unknowingly into a colony of these worms will be dismembered by the entire community, leaving them bloody and helpless.
