10 Things Alien: Isolation Will Do Better Than Aliens: Colonial Marines

There's an upside to hitting rock bottom...

The Alien franchise has had a long and storied history with the video game industry. Every film featuring the titular creature has had a video game tie-in; some multiple times. Between those and the numerous Aliens vs. Predator games, it€™s safe to say that the Alien is no stranger to video games. But as fans know, times have been tough for our favourite acid-blooded killer. Not only has it not had a decent film since the 90s, but its video game career has been pretty poor as well. It all seemed to culminate in last year€™s Aliens: Colonial Marines, a game that had been in development for more than half a decade and generated massive amounts of hype. To say it failed to live up to that hype would be an understatement. With graphics bordering on PS2/360 levels, an unacceptably high number of glitches, broken promises and just plain poor writing; it never delivered the authentic Aliens experience it claimed to aim for. Combined with the PR nightmare that resulted from the controversy, many fans are still reeling from the disappointment. However, there appears to be a glimmer of hope on the horizon in the form of Alien: Isolation. Developed by Creative Assembly, Isolation aims to replicate the feeling of Ridley Scott€™s masterpiece by having you face off with just one Alien as opposed to an entire hive, the formula replicated in every Alien game since 1986. From what has been revealed so far, Isolation looks to be better than Colonial Marines in every way, which admittedly shouldn€™t be difficult to achieve. Even if Isolation doesn€™t live up to the hype, these are the things it is sure to do better than Colonial Marines.
