10 Upcoming Video Game Remakes That Could Be Better Than The Original
10. Silent Hill
For everyone lamenting that Konami remade Silent Hill 2 while seemingly ignoring the original, their prayers were answered with the recent confirmation that Bloober Team - who developed the surprisingly excellent Silent Hill 2 remake - are now also remaking the first game.
As brilliant as the original game is, it's clear that Silent Hill would benefit from over 25 years of progress in games development.
For one, the original's controls and camera are extremely stiff and clunky by modern standards, and even huge fans of the game will concede that the imprecise combat can be frustrating at times.
And of course, modern gaming tech can make the original's suffocatingly thick atmosphere feel even more palpable through cutting-edge visuals and sound design.
Bloober proved with Silent Hill 2 that they could do justice to the series' stone cold masterpiece, and so there's little doubt they'll pull off the same feat with the game that started it all.
