10. The Wolf Among Us 2

The Wolf Among Us 2 is the sequel to Telltale Games' acclaimed episodic adventure game based on Bill Willingham's Fables comic book series, and seems to be a textbook case of a video game follow-up that's just spent way too long in the oven.

The original Wolf Among Us released its five episodes in 2013 and 2014, and the sequel was initially announced at San Diego Comic-Con 2017 for an intended 2018 release.

However, Telltale in its original form was closed in September 2018 primarily due to financial issues, in turn causing The Wolf Among Us 2 to be cancelled.

It was ultimately resurrected, though, when Telltale was revived in 2019, yet word on the game has been frustratingly scant over the last six years. 

This may be in part because the new Telltale team reconceived the game from scratch, using none of the ideas in the original pre-closure version of the game. 

All the same, production has been beset by continual delays, and in September 2023 some of Telltale's workforce was laid off.

Though Telltale confirmed that The Wolf Among Us 2 isn't cancelled last October, between Telltale's clear business problems and the ludicrous amount of time that's passed since the first game, it's easy to imagine it coming out and being largely ignored by the gaming masses.
