10 Upcoming Video Games That Will DEFINITELY Be Cross-Gen
4. Starfield
Starfield may well be released the latest out of every game here, and is the most likely to be exclusive to the next generation.
However, there is one reason why it might come to the PS4 and Xbox One: Fallout 76.
Unsurprisingly for a game nobody wanted, Fallout 76 was disastrous. There was way more going on than simply failing to find a gap in the market though; the game was empty, bloated up by microtransactions and suffered a terrible, scandal hit launch.
Other games may be willing to roll the dice on being solely next gen titles, hoping to be a potential killer app. After the car crash of Fallout 76, Bethesda’s name no longer has the same pull and they may not be willing to take the risk.
Starfield looks set to be a return to form for Bethesda, focusing on a core RPG again. By moving the setting to space, it certainly isn’t a new idea but it may fill the Mass Effect void which has been gaping since ME3.
Unveiled at last year’s E3, not much is known about the game yet, but as Bethesda’s first new IP for a quarter of a century, all eyes are on it.
