Why It Will Flop: Though the Project CARS series has a passionate fanbase, the game's sales will likely suffer immensely due to two far higher-profile racing games set to be released shortly thereafter.

Forza Motorsport 7 hits stores on October 3 and Gran Turismo Sport has a currently unspecified Q4 date, and considering that both franchises typically sell extremely well, it's CARS that's sure to take the hit and lose a big chunk of its revenue as a result.

With the game not being as widely crowdfunded as the original, it also means that Slightly Mad Studios is assuming a much greater risk onto themselves, one that's sadly not looking likely to pay off, regardless of how well it reviews.
