10 Upcoming Video Games To Look Out For In February 2017
10. Fire Emblem: Heroes
What is it: Nintendo's latest foray into the wild, wild west of mobile gaming, Fire Emblem: Heroes looks to effectively shrink Nintendo's popular RPG franchise into a bite-sized phone application.
By limiting the playing field to a minuscule eight-by-six grid, Heroes won't be overwhelming players with controlling a full-scale battlefield, making it perfect for five-minute bursts of tactical role-playing action.
Despite the downsizing, trademark elements like the weapon triangle system and environmental obstacles remain, ensuring that strategic decision-making in Heroes is just as rewarding as it's console brethren.
While Heroes takes place in an all-new story universe, the true focus of the game lies in the player's collection of heroes. Players can command a team made of their favorite allies from previous games, such as Marth, Azura, Chrom, and Lyn, either by meeting and beating them in combat or by blindly summoning them via the in-game transaction piece, Orbs.
There had to be a catch somewhere... but at least it's not a $10 paywall like Mario Run. Did anyone seriously fork over the dough for that?
When's it coming out: It already is! Fire Emblem Heroes launched on the 2nd of February for Android and iOS.
