5. Resistance - Dark Souls

As the saying goes, resistance is - wait for it - futile.

How you distribute your skill points in Dark Souls is incredibly important, and there's no grander waste than using them to raise your Resistance level.

Above all else, increasing your Resistance offers by far the worst return-on-investment of any attribute in the game, and is an extremely inefficient way to enhance your defensive capabilities (Endurance and Vitality make far more sense).

Leaving Resistance well alone is one of the long-held maxims among Dark Souls fans, and if you mistakenly think it's an avenue worth investing in, you're only making an already tough game even tougher.
