7. Mark Hamill - The Joker (Batman: Arkham Series)
Okay, so Mark Hamill has had enough platitudes heaped on him for his work as The Joker, but that should not take anything away from his performance here.
It is, essentially, a retread of Hamill’s Joker from The Animated Series, but since that is one of the best iterations of the character, we can’t really hold it against him. Hamill’s Joker torments Batman with just the right mixture of insanity, sincerity and childish glee that, as the games go on, we fear for Batman’s own sanity.
This is reflected in Arkham Knight, as we see how much of an impact Joker has had on our hero and Hamill sells it perfectly. He is asked to explore previously unseen aspects of the character; especially towards the end as he realises Bruce is slowly fading him out of existence.
It’s a brave move to take for the character and, as expected, Hamill absolutely nails it.
