10 Video Game Characters That Deserve Their Own Spin-Off Game

The best part about Uncharted: Drake€™s Fortune 3? The chance to see how awesome moustached, wise-cracking sidekick Sully was during Nathan€™s childhood €“ and the answer is: very, very awesome. We€™ve stepped into Nathan Drake€™s shoes three times now, and while each game has been better than the last, perhaps it€™s time for him to hang up his pistol for good, and actually end on a high. It€™s as good a time as any €“ his relationship with Elena and Sully have both been fully explored, and it€™s hard to see where else to take the character. Rather than going the way of Tomb Raider and churning out pointless sequel after pointless sequel, perhaps developers Naughty Dog could choose to flesh out sidekick Sully a little more with a prequel set a little before the flashbacks in Uncharted: 3, giving him his own story, cast and series of incredible action set-pieces. Is there anyone who wouldn€™t want to play that?

2. Garrus

Did you expect him to be number one? The fan community€™s been screaming for this one for a while now, and I must say I think they have a point. I€™m not suggesting Mass Effect 4 €“ which is going to happen (whether we want it to or not) and will probably feature totally new characters. Rather, a stand-alone title detailing the time fan-favourite Garrus spent cleaning up crime on Omega between Mass Effect 1 and 2. There€™d be less decision making than usual Mass Effect fare on a galactic level; rather your choices would have personal ramifications for the characters you meet through the game. It would be significantly smaller scale, more of a return in feel to the first game, which would be no bad thing. L.A. Noire had great success combing detective elements with action, and there€™s no reason a game set in the Mass Effect universe couldn€™t do the same. The female Turian Nyleen, from the recent Take Back Omega DLC, could easily be incorporated as well, finally giving us the chance to see what Garrus makes of her.
