2. Javik - Mass Effect 3

Most Mass Effect 3 players probably have the same experience with Javik on their first playthrough. The first time they meet him, they think he's the most insufferable, condescending racist, and by the end of the game, they can't get enough of his ability to shut down anyone he meets.

Javik is the last remaining member of the Proteans, the first space-faring species in the galaxy that enlightened all the current species with the knowledge of interstellar travel.

Because at the peak of his civilization, the other species were seen the same way humans view apes, Javik treats everyone he meets with the expected amount of condescending contempt.

This can prove quite annoying at first, but over time, you realize that Javik's hatred of the current world is caused by his grieving of the world that he lost. Furthermore, he actually treats the "lesser" species the way he does because he doesn't want them to repeat the mistakes of his people.

His insults usually hide some kind of insight or berate people for acting stupid, and once this clicks in, you gain an additional sense of appreciation for them, as well as Javik.

Besides, he's just really good at roasting people!
