What They're Up to Now: Trotting out broken sports games & closing studios, live service gaming

There was a time when you couldn't move for EA games. They've had fingers in a lot of things since the 80's, some of which may surprise you. Besides all the major sports franchises, they've had a hand in everything from the Burnout games, Syndicate, SimCity, Road Rash, Theme Hospital... you name it.

So you'd think they'd be riding high, right?

Sadly not, as in recent years EA have taken it upon themselves to buy studios up and close them under the guise of amalgamation. Oh, and y'know the whole microtransaction/season pass debacle? Yeah, it was these guys that spearheaded a lot of it.

Recent FIFA titles have been pale imitations of what they used to be, as people are getting tired of half-baked sequels being farted out year on year. Constant cries for new Burnout and Skate titles are falling on deaf ears, as EA favours revenue over fan demand.
