10 Video Game Enemies You Felt REALLY Bad For Killing

7. Joseph Clarence - Hitman: Blood Money

The Hitman franchise generally makes a point of having you kill unambiguously awful people who are certainly worthy of death - though there are a few exceptions.

Hitman: Blood Money's first level sees Agent 47 tasked with assassinating Joseph Clarence, an amusement park honcho whose negligence caused a malfunctioning ride which killed 36 people.

A horrible crime, for sure, but the mission does a surprisingly comprehensive job of making Clarence a pitiable figure: he lost his business and fortune, his wife left him, and in desperation he ends up loaning the park out to drug dealers who eventually double-cross him.

As Agent 47, you're sent to kill him by a parent of one of the accident's victims, who also requests you show Clarence a picture of their son before executing him.

By this point, Clarence is a sobbing, sorrowful wreck on the floor, and as cool as the Hitman games are, nothing felt good about this at all.
