10 Video Game Rooms You Should NEVER Enter
10. The Stanley Parable – Serious Ending
The Stanley Parable may have begun as a Half-Life 2 mod by Galactic Café, but it quickly took a life of its own, seeing a standalone remake in 2013 to critical acclaim. Still utilising the Source Engine, players soon learned it shared similarities with another Valve game, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive.
CSGO players will be familiar with the SV_CHEATS 1, which provide server admins a set of built-in cheat commands like 'no recoil' or 'god mode'. Achieved by entering codes into the developer console, Stanley Parable players soon attempted the same, trying to uncover the game’s wider secrets.
Galactic Café anticipated players would attempt this, so upon entering the code, Stanley gets teleported to the Serious Room and the Narrator then reprimands him, and you. There’s no means of leaving, forcing you to restart.
Ending up here a second time sees the Narrator scorn you for not learning your lesson.
Unlike a lot of rooms on this list, you’d never end up here normally and it serves as a valuable lesson about cheating.
