4. Shadow Warrior 3

Devolver Digital's 2013 reboot of 1997 FPS Shadow Warrior sold well despite mixed reviews, such that a second game was released in 2016 to more generally positive notices.

More to the point, Shadow Warrior 2's launch sales quadrupled those of its predecessor, leading to the reveal of a third game last summer which was targeting a 2021 release.

Despite the series' cult fandom, you'd be forgiven for forgetting that Shadow Warrior 3 is even on the cards considering how low-key its announcement was. However, the extensive gameplay that's been shown off suggests the game is more-or-less done.

If this misses 2021, it'd be more surprising than any other game on this list.
