10 Video Games That Just Got Delayed

10. Subnautica 2

Subnautica 2 was officially confirmed in 2022, and by the end of 2023 publisher Krafton revealed that the survival game sequel was intended to release in early access before 2025 came to a close.

However, Subnautica 2 was delayed amid considerable controversy back in July, when Krafton announced that it had been pushed back to an unspecified date in 2026.

A report from Bloomberg stated that the delay came mere months before developer Unknown Worlds was set to receive a hefty $250 million bonus from Krafton - a bonus based on revenue targets which Subnautica 2's planned 2025 release would've likely let them achieve.

As a result, there was much suspicion that the delay occurred less for the sake of the game's quality than for Kraton to avoid paying the bonus, which Unknown Worlds intended to share among its employees.

And to make matters worse, three key members of Unknown Worlds were fired by Krafton just a week before, including studio co-founder Charlie Cleveland, who claimed the game was indeed ready for an early access release when it was delayed.

The three team members have consequently filed a breach-of-contract lawsuit against Krafton, all while the publisher claims that Subnautica 2 was delayed for the purposes of "refinement."

Either way, players won't get their hands on it until January at the very earliest.
