10 Video Games That Just Got DELAYED

10. The Occultist

German developer Daedalic Entertainment have brought us some pretty unusual games over the last 15+ years, including the Blackguards series, an adaptation of Ken Follett's The Pillars of the Earth, and the disastrous Lord of the Rings: Gollum. Thanks to years of cutbacks, and the abject failure of Gollum, they closed down their development division two years ago, but they’ve still got a few titles in the pipeline, including The Occultist, developed by DALOAR Studios.

First announced in August 2024, The Occultist was teed up for release this year, in which players become Alan Rebels as he journeys to the island of Godstone, seeking the truth behind his father’s disappearance. The trailer for the first-person horror promises fog-drenched streets, candle-lit gothic buildings and scare aplenty, as you navigate the island with a mystical pendulum, solving puzzles and taking on whatever ghouls and cultists.

Despite the latest trailer dropping in March, the game has been pushed back. Now slated for a 2026 release (@ mxdwn), across consoles and PC, it is disappointing news. However, given Daedalic’s track record with the whole Gollum debacle, a little more time to get things right pre-release can’t be that bad an idea.
