10 Video Games That Let You Kill God
10. Mortal Kombat Series (1992-)
Since its very first outing in 1992, the ever-expanding roster of fighters in the Mortal Kombat series has been home to a ridiculously powerful - and equally stylish - Thunder God named Raiden.
One of the franchise's most iconic characters, Raiden is the protector of Earthrealm, boasting all manner of supernatural powers with which to beat down his deadly enemies.
He's largely a force for good in the world of Mortal Kombat, though his eternal duties and the paths they lead him down do make him rather...murdery...as time goes on. But whatever his motives, the coolie-wearing guardian is very much a force to be reckoned with.
And that's not just in the story, either, as Raiden's unique and complex moveset makes him an incredible fighter in the right hands. Being a Mortal Kombat game, anyone can kill anyone, and it's especially satisfying to say that you've delivered a deliciously gory fatality upon an actual god in a one-on-one duel.
The game series' trailers are also not shy about slicing and bloodying him up good, as Mortal Kombat 9's so graphically shows.
