8. Jurassic Park: The Lost World
In slightly more overt terms, here's a game that straight-up insulted the player for their commitment.
1997's scarcely remembered adaptation of Steven Spielberg's The Lost World: Jurassic Park contains a special ending for those committed enough to hoover up all of the DNA bonuses scattered throughout the game.
The ending sees the player addressed by Dr. Ian Malcolm (a comatose Jeff Goldblum), who congratulates the player for their commitment before telling them, "turn the thing off, for Heaven's sakes, go outside, breathe the air, take a walk, call a member of the opposite sex."
Goldblum's velvet-voiced delivery makes it hard to take the insults too personally, but if you've invested enough time to gobble up all of a game's collectibles only for it to tell you to get a life, nobody could blame you for feeling a bit cheesed off.
