I call it that, because after two main instalments and a couple of PSP spin-offs, the 'square, square, triangle'-fronted combat was starting to wear a little thin - as was Kratos' cack-handed motivations.

Then we got a look at that opening sequence and thought, "Oh, go on then, one more time", not realising that once it was out the way, nothing would ever match the pace, rollout of jaw-dropping monsters or general feel of gameplay again.

Save for one epic confrontation with a screen-stretching Titan and its general graphical wallop, the rest of GoW III was utterly forgettable.
