10. Tales Of Hearts R

Tales of Hearts R can be more than a little cheesy at times, but it’s not out of place in a bright fantasy world, full of evil witches, giant sand worms and magical appearing weapons.

As with any JRPG, combat is a major focus and selling point. Hearts R features instanced action combat. You’ll enter a battle and be able to run around the field, slashing away at your foes and building up chain links, combo-ing various attacks together to unleash devastating blows.

It’s also not a particularly long experience by JRPG standards. You’ll clock in about 40 hours on average, which is still a solid length, but far easier to consume on the go, and it stops far before feeling as if it outstays its welcome. It starts off fairly slowly, but if you can stick with it for a little while, you’ll be very pleased that you did.
