Budget Cuts is a good starting point for virtual reality. Combining corporate satire with an action stealth premise, it released back in 2018 on PC and is due for PSVR release later this year. Playing as a human employee of Transcorp, you find both your job and life under threat from automation, as Transcorp seek to replace the human workforce with a robot army.

Seeing one of your colleagues summoned to the mysterious HR department, you find a mysterious package at your desk and this sets the stage for your fightback. Whilst it doesn’t have a long campaign, it’s a good few hours of gameplay that comes boosted with an arcade mode to keep you busy.

Suffering with some minor physics issues, it’s a title filled with humour, well-designed puzzles and killing the armed robots proves satisfying. Developers Neat Corporation may have moved onto Budget Cuts 2 last year but the original holds plenty of merit and is worth visiting.
