10 Video Games Where Forgetting Cost You Everything
10. Exploding Gale - Baldur's Gate 3
With Baldur’s Gate 3 exhibiting great attention to detail, it can be hard to keep track of everything that happens in your campaign.
This said, you’d do well to at least pay attention to what’s going on in your party, unless you feel like being exploded by the smoldering corpse of your ever-hungry mage, Gale.
Gale is the archmage of Waterdeep who has lost most of his powers after a freak accident has infused him with an ancient Netherese orb. Because of this, Gale has to regularly consume magical artifacts, or else he will turn into a magical bomb capable of razing entire cities.
Of course, in order to keep feeding the artifact, Gale needs to stay alive, which is why, when he dies, he will actually spawn a magical projection of himself advising you to resurrect him as quickly as possible.
Of course, you don’t have to listen to his words right away. However, should you forget about the wizard for at least three long rests, on the third day of your forgetfulness streak Gale’s body will actually explode, instantly killing your party.
If you’re doing an honor mode run, or you don’t make multiple saves, this mistake can completely erase your playthrough.
