10 Video Games With The Most Epic Boss Line-Ups Of All Time

10. God Of War III

Not everyone warmed to the final entry in the God of War series. But then again, warmth and sweetness aren't really needed in a game about all-out war between Titans, arrogant Greek gods and an apoplectic Spartan called Kratos.

God of War III wasn't a subtle game. It screamed epicness, hitting you over the head with it until your skull caved in. This is perfectly embodied in the game's boss battles, as you take on Zeus, Poseidon and co. in a series of majestic, operatic encounters.

Each battle is a healthy mixture of the series' classic combo-based gameplay and quick-time events, but what really defines them is their sheer scale. Breaking free from between the fingertips of the Titan Cronos, taking on the God of the Sea while scaling Mount Olympus aback a Titan, and ultimately tackling Zeus himself in an apocalyptic showdown - it's epic in the truly mythological, classical sense of the word (as well as in the the tacky, gamer-community sense too).

It's the majestic presentation as much as the gameplay that earns this most divisive of God of War games a place on this list.
